Coworking in Holly Springs

Yes, you heard it right. The Town Council is looking to convert the current police station into a coworking space.coworking-graphic

Coworking is a style of work that involves a shared working environment, often an office, and independent activity. Unlike in a typical office environment, those coworking are usually not employed by the same organization. Typically it is attractive to work-at-home professionals, independent contractors, or people who travel frequently who end up working in relative isolation. Coworking is also the social gathering of a group of people who are still working independently, but who share values, and who are interested in the synergy that can happen from working with people who value working in the same place alongside each other.   Wiki

A recent article in the Southwest Wake News (read here) outlines the current trend, other towns currently with coworking spaces and those looking at the viability for their town.  Gather is a model of this – tailored to the Artist.  Owner/Operator Michelle Smith was our guest speaker for the March Meetup.  She shared how amazing the space as and a viable business model.

The Holly Springs Arts Council is planning to have a brick and mortar space and offer a coworking space for artists!  So excited this is being perused, right her in our own town.
